Decontamination Process
Introduction:
In an effort to further ensure the longevity and safety of the products used in water rescue operations, Bioguard conducted a comprehensive study on the component materials found in a range of WRS International's Water Rescue products. The primary objective of this study was to examine the effects of immersion in an undiluted solution of Bioguard on the integrity and performance of these materials, particularly following exposure to floodwater contaminants. Given the demanding nature of water rescue environments, it is critical to understand how cleaning and decontamination agents interact with these materials to maintain their structural integrity and reliability.
This study provides a detailed analysis of how Bioguard interacts with various components, assessing whether prolonged exposure to the solution has any detrimental effects. The results presented hereafter demonstrate that the use of Bioguard’s Ready to Use solution does not compromise the quality or durability of WRS International's products. On the contrary, the solution proves to be an effective and safe option for decontaminating these life-saving tools following a flood event.
Based on these findings, we are pleased to recommend the use of Bioguard Ready to Use solution in the decontamination process for all WRS products after exposure to floodwaters or other hazardous environments.
